So my wife had been warning me this day would come. She kept telling me it wouldn’t be long before she was going to be needing a new car. I kept stringing it along trying to avoid the topic until the day her lease ended and she was adamant that she wanted a new car. She even had a vehicle in mind. She had settled on a Los Angeles Buick to which I furled my brow at first. When I originally heard Buick I immediately thought back to my early childhood when the only people who drove Buicks were the grandparents of my sports teammates. Fast forward to today, I didn’t realize it but the Buick brand now offers a large number of incredible options. None of which can be categorized as one which would be desired by the grandparents age group. In fact the Buick my wife purchased is flat out gorgeous! Packing all of the latest and greatest technologies offered in a luxury vehicle with the luxury vehicle price. I never thought I would say this but now I say it proud, I am a Buick guy!

The first real encounter of the North American public with the BMW X1 2011 ‘Supercreature’ was at the Montreal Auto Show. The SUV range from BMW is all set to hit American markets in the fall, and based on the other three models – X3, X5 and X6, the X1 seems to be the smallest by size considerations. With a 2 litre, 4 cylinder and choice of 143, 177 and 204 horse power, this vehicle should be available both in the petrol and diesel engine format.
The interior looks have been accentuated by use of modern trim design and natural color selection and the SUV boasts of a mammoth 420-litre boot space, which could be further increased to 1,350 litres if you fold the rear seats. The exterior of the vehicle displays new thresholds and spoiler design to give it an overall aggressive appeal, while the lower ground clearance gives the X1 running gear and improved stability.

With the different types of caliper paint available on the market these days, it is difficult to narrow down your choices to solely one color. Usually, people are lucky if they can whittle down their selections to less than five colors and then proceed. I remember the first time I decided to use caliper paint on my vintage car. It took me maybe a month before I finally decided on a new color. After that, it was alot easier to move forward with the process. I simply took a sample over to a friend’s house and from there we had a mutual colleague apply the color all over my car. After three coats, it was finished and I was more than pleased with the outcome. These days, I use caliper paint every other year on my cars. It not only increases the beauty of the car, it makes me less bored with the look of my vehicle for at least a few months.

I was so much in a hurry to drive after finishing my driving courses and passing very well in all the tests, but I did not have my licence yet. I was also very scared in case I was caught up with the authorities because of driving on the public roads without a licence. So I called the provisional driving licence helpline to know whether I could use the provisional licence I was issued with to drive before my licence was ready and the office in charge told me that there was no problem as long as I observed all the rules and regulations involved in driving. I was very happy. I borrowed my elder brother's car there and then and I went round the town, showcasing my fresh driving skills to everyone who cared to look my way. I got my licence a few weeks later, and then I was free to use the roads without any fear. Its a good thing the transport authority allows drivers to use their provisional licences causeway some of us would have died of curiosity to drive.
