If you are starting out in the world of bodybuilding then your head is probably spinning. I mean, there are literally hundreds of exercises that you could do but which ones are the best bodybuilding for men and women just starting out? Well, here’s what I have found to be very beneficial in getting you off to a quick start.
1. Keep it simple- use traditional exercises like bench press, dead lift, bicep curl, triceps push, etc.
2. Lift heavy – be safe, but still use as much weight as you can per exercise. Focus less on multiple reps or sets and focus more on heavy weight!
3. Rest appropriately- one of the biggest misconceptions amongst newbies is that muscle is grown in the gym. That couldn’t be further from the truth. In fact, muscle is ripped (microscopically) in the gym and then during the healing process it repairs and GROWS! In essence, your muscle grows at home!
These three steps are perfect for beginners and experts alike. They are the basics of our sport and we must never forget the importance of the basics!

Eating is a big part of the weight gaining process and a healthy diet should be a top priority. There are some tips meant to help you in your weight gaining endeavors. Milk shakes are wonderful and you’d want to make a habit from drinking those as often as you can. You may choose the regular McDonalds milkshakes, you can try your own recipes or you can buy shakes specially conceived for weight gaining. Either way, the important thing is to drink them. The best part in weight gaining is that you will have to eat some very tasty foods and you should consider yourself very lucky, especially in comparison with those who would do anything to lose weight. Therefore you can spoil yourself with chocolate, milk, pudding, butter of any kind, and in particular peanut butter, but also yolks and red meat. You should, however, be careful with fats since eating a lot of unhealthy fats could bring you some other unwanted health issues. In a nutshell, all you’ll have to do is…eat, eat, eat.
