There are very few jobs as demanding and stressful as working in an operating room at a hospital. Almost everyone coming through the door on a gurney is facing death or serious future health problems if the team in the room doesn’t pull together and do their jobs. I’m one of those people. I work as a surgical tech and my job often finds me in an operating room staring down the grim reaper. I came into this line of work because I like stressful situations and, frankly, I needed a job that pays decent wages. One day I happened to enter surgical technology salary into a computer search engine and just took it from there. I have the sort of job where I can tell you stories that would raise the hair on your head, and I can also tell you tales that would warm your heart. There’s nothing quite like this job and I love going to work every single day.

Having to go in front of the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board to complete my program was really scary. When we went in front of the board, we had to pledge that we would act responsible with our roles and do our best to abide by state and federal regulations of dispensing controlled drugs and medications. The board was over twelve members from our state who would then sign our certification and claim that we finished our program. Once I had spoken to the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board and pledged that I would act safely in my role, I was given my degree the next day and it was my job to go out and find a job as a pharmacy technician. However, whenever I think back to the program I did at my college, facing the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board was the scariest and most worthwhile part of doing it.

That test is coming up and I’m besides myself with worry. My friends think that I’ve gone crazy, but they simply don’t understand what it means to be doing something like this. I recently send my child to a private school in my town, and I thought that it was a great choice to make because of the type of education that he will get. But the problem came when I didn’t think that the teachers were doing a good job in general, I thought that it was really similar to the high school education that he got.
